Making a Speech to Remember

Every little girl dreams of having a perfect wedding day.  When your little girl grows up, she will be hard at work planning that perfect day.  Much anticipation, and probably stress, have went into planning that day, and you want to do your part as her father to make sure it is special.  Besides being that constant support for your daughter both emotionally and financially, it is also your duty to come up with some father of the bride wedding speeches.  After you come up with some ideas, you should run the ideas by your wife to see what she thinks to choose which one will suit the best.

Planning the speech doesn’t have to be complicated, but you need to make sure you get all the important things in the speech.  Since most father of the bride wedding speeches are typically the first speech at the reception, it is your job to welcome all the guests and to reflect on what a great ceremony the wedding was.  You need to make sure you thank everyone who played a role in the wedding, and you should also welcome the groom and his family into your family.  Once you’ve said these things, you can begin your speech.

It might be a good idea to share some fond and/or amusing stories of your daughter when she was growing up.  This is your time to reflect on your little girl who is now a beautiful woman all grown up.  No father of the bride wedding speeches are complete without mentioning how beautiful your daughter looks on her special day.  Do not be afraid to get emotional since this is a memorable day.  You want your daughter to remember this for the rest of her life, and she will surely be proud of you for making it so memorable.

After reflecting on your daughter, you can then turn your attention to your new son-in-law.  Many father of the bride wedding speeches include some fun stories, all in jest, such as the first impressions when your daughter brought him home to meet you.  You should then mention how much you love how he makes your daughter happy.  Always finish your speech in a toast to the happy couple.  Everyone else will follow your lead in raising their glasses to your daughter and brand new son-in-law.  You can then introduce the groom for his speech, and hopefully everyone will be talking tomorrow of what a great speech you made.
